Education has an crucial part in Indonesia. Why I said so? It creates people that can be a hero, or even scum of society. Let take a look at Indonesia's society, how many beggars can we find? How many killers, robbers and their friend? It's so many, right? It proves that our education program still get trouble. There are several reasons why we need to reform our education curriculum and what it will impact if we still stand in our position today.
First reason, why Indonesia should change the point of view of the education, it could kill the students' creativity. Students here cannot choose their subjects. The government, by the curriculum, has already prepared it for them. During twelve years of their study, they do not have a right to choose what their interests are. It makes their perception stuck in the box. Moreover, it still uses teacher centered. Teacher is the subject in teaching-learning activity, and other hand the students are just the object that should be filled by system thought. Wearing uniform also the one which jails the students' creativity. They could not express their self cause their right showing their own characters curbed by the school rules. However, it will have a bad effect in their psychology point of view.
Making students stress is the second reason reforming education system. Could you imagine, students have to face twenty subjects every week! Twenty subjects which they should master all. However, the pupils also get a lot of homework. It seems that school regulation does not want to leave them even a minute. They will not have time to do something they like, build their hobbies, or just spend time not doing anything to refresh their mind. It is not a surprise, so easy we find suicide students. Based of a cup of problems, they kill their selves. It prove that our education create of high rate stress students.
It is the government responsible to take part of these problems. They should reform to solve the society problems caused by unstable system. I believe that we still have chance to create a better life by creating better people in education.
